		<description><![CDATA[Could this crazy strategy actually work? Freud thinks so. Has it ever been done before? No idea. Should I try it? Computer says YES!]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>I have a new client who I am doing a new website, branding and SEO for. Yesterday on the phone, he asked me if it would be possible, and how much it would cost, to put a custom &#8216;game&#8217; on his website.</p>
<p>&#8216;I want people to have fun with the brand, you know? I don&#8217;t want to have just another boring website, like all those other companies out there&#8217;, he said.</p>
<p>I knew exactly what he meant. </p>
<p>Although I hadn&#8217;t ever commissioned some custom software before, I suspected that getting a quote from rentacoder for an embeddable .swf file would probably be the go, and from other things I&#8217;d commissioned before, I thought I could probably get that done for less than $500 US.</p>
<p>But just to check, I asked on a forum where some pretty experienced internet marketers hang out.</p>
<p>To my surprise, not only had nobody else ever had a game app custom made, but judging from the &#8216;leading questions&#8217; asked by some of the more experienced marketers that also do coaching, they thought I was was kind of missing the point (out of my mind?) even considering putting a game on a client website.</p>
<p>X asked:</p>
<p>Questions: How many of his potential clients are interested in<br />
playing games? What does he really want people to do when they<br />
come to his website?</p>
<p>Y said:</p>
<p>I&#8217;m with X, find out what the client&#8217;s end goal is and who they<br />
want to perceived as, and if it doesn&#8217;t align with playing games,<br />
advise against it. It&#8217;s in both your and your clients interest to nut<br />
it out.</p>
<p>So, I thought I should explain the rationale which at this point is as yet untested/creative/wacky, but has a certain psychological rationale behind it, and hey &#8211; might just work. And might just be new!</p>
<p>Firstly, a bit of backstory;</p>
<p>Internet Marketers aren&#8217;t usually interested in branding, per se &#8211; and admittedly, it can be a bum steer for businesses &#8211; led down the garden path of &#8216;why we&#8217;re so great!&#8217; (which doesn&#8217;t sell) &#8211; rather than the &#8216;what&#8217;s in it for you, the customer?&#8217; (which does)</p>
<p>Ditto design. One of the gurus says &#8216;Shut the clients down immediately when they talk about design. Ask them if it&#8217;s going to make them any more money?&#8217; (&#8216;No&#8217;, is what most internet marketers think, which may have some weight to it, as there are some damn plain and ugly sites out there making pots of money &#8211; they &#8216;convert&#8217;, as marketers say&#8230;)</p>
<p>Yet&#8230; yet&#8230;branding is the thing that makes you think &#8216;cute, fun, fresh&#8217; when you think of Nudie Juice (one of the top ten most influential brands in the South Pacific, and a 20M a year business) &#8211; and &#8216;fun&#8217; is an emotional state. A brand that makes people smile. </p>
<p>Nudie can brand themselves as simply as with the name &#8216;Nudie&#8217; (haha! fun!) and their image (fat and cute simple cartoon drawing) </p>
<p>So where am I going with this?</p>
<p>As you know, I&#8217;m really into video marketing and the backstory to this &#8216;game&#8217; thing is that the client had already agreed to make a video where he speaks to camera about his business and the benefits of using their company. </p>
<p>I had already researched the competitors in his market, and saw what can only be described as a bunch of almost identikit &#8216;corporate&#8217; websites, characterless &#8211; without any &#8216;humans&#8217; visible &#8211; in videos, in their &#8216;about pages&#8217;, anywhere to be found &#8211; and this market is not the sort where you sell off a website. It&#8217;s the sort of market where you want a potential client to make a call or email to get a quote, and then you&#8217;d expect to hear back from an actual human. And then, a potential sale could be worth tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands.</p>
<p>So now, here&#8217;s my thing; you want people to stay on the page and listen to your video, because as we know video is the quickest thing to bridge the gap between &#8216;total stranger&#8217; and &#8216;trusted person i would do business with&#8217; &#8211; (Or, in this case, at least call for a quote.)</p>
<p>So, video on the page, by the business owner, was always the plan. But what say &#8211; ooh &#8211; you distract people and keep them on the page, by playing a game? &#8216;Monster Trucks&#8217; &#8211; ?</p>
<p>and then, so here&#8217;s the wacky theory I have yet to test, you get them in this trance-like state, like when you&#8217;re playing a video game. Your conscious mind is BUSY, DUDE. Fun, adrenaline, concentration, don&#8217;t get smashed! AAAAAHHHH I died, I have a second life, let&#8217;s try that again -</p>
<p>(Ladies, ever tried to have a conversation when your man is playing a video game?)</p>
<p>Add to that, he wants to beat the other scores that are there.<br />
Oh: and men are competitive in nature. (Don&#8217;t take my word for it, ask Freud.)</p>
<p>So he&#8217;s busy playing this game that he got distracted by, maybe because the website owner challenges him to beat the high score, and once a month they&#8217;ll send a slab of beer to the high score &#8211; so he&#8217;s hooked! (I say &#8216;he&#8217;, because it&#8217;s mostly blokes that want quotes for transportation, slabs, construction, renovation and the like) &#8211; so this bloke is sucked in, his conscious mind is busy playing the game &#8211; which is a form of hypnosis &#8211; anything that quiets the conscious mind is &#8211; </p>
<p>and he&#8217;s also in a happy and excited state &#8211; relaxed (cause he&#8217;s playing a leisure game) &#8211; but on edge, alert, because he doesn&#8217;t want to &#8216;die&#8217; in the game. His conscious is busy.</p>
<p>So, what about his subconscious?<br />
I learned this from a therapist/hypnotherapist client the other day that I&#8217;m doing some video marketing and branding for- shot 50 super-interesting segments with him the other day &#8211; &#8220;the subconscious mind doesn&#8217;t have a filter, like the conscious mind. It&#8217;s like a filing cabinet; you drop stuff in to it, and it stores that without judgement&#8221;.</p>
<p>What say, at the very point that our bloke is busy playing a video game, we start the video to play? About why they should call our company, and so on? He won&#8217;t stop the game, cause he&#8217;s busy, he&#8217;ll let it play.</p>
<p>(At this point, even subliminal volume will still reach his subconscious.)</p>
<p>OMG: did we just hypnotise him (sort of) by getting him to play the game, and getting him in a &#8216;state&#8217; where he is open to other messages we drop in by video or audio?</p>
<p>Maybe.<br />
Has this ever been done before?<br />
No idea!<br />
Consciously? Strategically?<br />
No idea!</p>
<p>Can we test this?<br />
Damn straight!<br />
We can put game plus video on the page, and see if it converts. And after a certain number of visitors, we can put video (no game) on the page and see if that converts better or worse than with the game.</p>
<p>We can count the number of unique visitors to get an accurate comparison.<br />
We can put crazy egg on the page and see where people click.<br />
We can use google analytics to see how long people are staying on the page.</p>
<p>Wow!<br />
Now, even if ALL people do is play the game and therefore stay on the page longer, Google looks at this as a plus and may reward our page with higher rankings.</p>
<p>So, logically &#8211; psychologically &#8211; given the niche &#8211; given we want the customer visiting the page to get to know/like/trust our company, so that they would be comfortable asking for a quote &#8211; and that&#8217;s all we want them to do &#8211; why not try this wacky hybrid game plus video combo and see if it hypnotizes the web site visitor, enabling us to &#8216;drop in&#8217; a comforting sales message at the EXACT time the customer&#8217;s mind is quieted by playing a game, so it goes straight into the subconscious, which has no filter, so basically anything we say in the video will be more likely to be accepted?</p>
<p>it&#8217;s bloody well worth a shot, I reckon.<br />
Freud said so!</p>
<p>PS, try out monster trucks below!. (no subliminal video, no free slab of beer. just have fun and tell me if you think this game is okay or not. after all, I&#8217;m not a bloke!)</p>
<p><iframe src="http://www.miniclip.com/games/monster-trucks-nitro-2/en/webgame.php" frameborder="0" style="border:none;" width="590" height="433" scrolling="no"></iframe></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Hi Nelson!</p>
<p>As promised, here is a proposal for you. I will quote as I go and give you a summary at the end.</p>
<p><strong>AIM: Great website that is functional, visually appealing, professional and fun, that will rank on the first page of google for various appropriate and achievable &#8216;keywords&#8217; (i.e. &#8216;google search terms&#8217;) and serve to drive more leads to the business and achieve authority in the market</strong></p>
<p><strong>Keyword Research:</strong></p>
<p>You would have hopefully already got my preliminary keyword research already via email in a spreadsheet. This will give you an idea of the terms that people are searching for in google. We want to create a website that they can find when they search for that term.</p>
<p>If they get to the page, like it, and feel that they can trust you, then you might just gain a new client!</p>
<p>We can cull this list down to about 6-10 keywords we can start with, and we can add others down the track as we start to rank for the first bunch. I will wait for your feedback on the big list before culling it down to our initial &#8216;hitlist&#8217;.</p>
<p><strong>Design:</strong></p>
<p>Design is the fun part! I have had a look at the three sites you like, and all of them have what is called a &#8216;feature box&#8217; under or above the top navigation menu. We could either put a slide show in here with images (like Thiess and St Hilliers) or the link to a video (like Hutchinson builders).</p>
<p>If we used the feature box for a slide show, we could put a video that you might make, say top right on the site, which auto-plays.</p>
<p>The better the images, the better this feature box is going to look. I can either buy some generic stock images of construction, or you might like to take some nice images. Just bear in mind that they will have to be cropped to a uniform size of the feature box. (I can do this for you). Also bear in mind your ideal client, and the images should match their aspirations.</p>
<p>I.e., if your ideal client is a home build, then put lots of home build images. But if your ideal client is skyscrapers, then the images would match that.</p>
<p>We can figure this out later on.</p>
<p><strong>Website Framework: My price of $1500 includes any of the following designs linked to below AND keyword research</strong></p>
<p>As Leanne may have told you, we prefer to use WordPress for our websites because it has some fantastic features that enable out content to be syndicated all over the internet (RSS feeds, and a &#8216;Pinglist&#8217; is how we do that) &#8211; so that is why WordPress is GREAT for getting search engine rankings. It is also VERY easy to use and you will be able to update the website with new content easily yourself whenever you want, without having to hire a web designer every time (however I&#8217;m also happy to do this for you ongoing if you like!)</p>
<p>So now to look at some templates that might suit:</p>
<p>One theme that you might like is called <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.studiopress.com/demo/enterprise.html" target="_blank">Enterprise</a> (the link is to a live demo of a site using this theme) and there are a lot of others by Studiopress <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.studiopress.com/themes" target="_blank">here </a></p>
<p>Another option is a theme called <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.woothemes.com/demo/?name=spectrum" target="_blank">Spectrum</a> made by Woothemes. (again, a live demo)</p>
<p>Woothemes also have many more you can look through, see their <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.woothemes.com/themes/" target="_blank">huge range of themes</a> to choose from, all are good.</p>
<p>Last but not least, the following options are VERY good because they use the Thesis framework which is just one of the best to work with.</p>
<p>One example that you might like if you want the page to be &#8216;fuller&#8217; with more content on it is <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://vunamhung.com/simplepress11/" target="_blank">SimplePress</a> &#8211; bearing in mind when you view the demo site that wherever there is a &#8216;banner ad&#8217; in this template, it could be either a banner for either other businesses you want to link to, or &#8216;ads&#8217; that link to pages on your own site! (i.e. good!)</p>
<p>Last but not least is <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://thesisfolio.thesisthemes.com/" target="_blank">Thesis Folio</a> &#8211; another very nice clean functional site. ( I actually really like the look of this one for some reason!)</p>
<p>So: let me know if you like any of these options.</p>
<p>If not, I can either a) I can try and find a few more to show you that would be good,</p>
<p>or b) you can get a site custom designed!!!</p>
<p><strong>Custom Design: (exclusive to your website)</strong></p>
<p>For an additional $500 (total $2000) you can get a custom designed site.</p>
<p>I will put your specific brief up for tender, and designers all over the world will compete to create a unique design for you. You choose your favourite and own the full copyright, and the design is professionally encoded as a wordpress theme.</p>
<p>To do this, we have to put the prize amount up first in escrow. The more you offer, the more designs you will get submitted, but for about $500 AUD you should get a good few (10-20) to choose from.  The process will take approx. 2 weeks. The design quality is very good. No &#8216;better&#8217; than the themes I have suggested above, it&#8217;s just that you can get a more exact look such as if there is a particular site you want to copy the look and layout of.</p>
<p>Personally I think a template is just as good, but it&#8217;s up to you because design can be a very personal thing.</p>
<p><strong>The next step: Content</strong></p>
<p>Once we have a framework (template/theme) you like I then build the site. It seems you already have hosting so I will need the log in to your CPanel and then I&#8217;ll create the framework.</p>
<p>The next step is to fill it out with your content. Including your logo which you can email me.</p>
<p>I will also make you a contact page included in the price.</p>
<p>There are two parts to content. Firstly, there is the &#8216;brochure&#8217; type of writing (text and images) that you want to have on your site about your business.</p>
<p>From chatting to you, I am expecting you will largely write this yourself. i.e. your home page content, an &#8216;about us&#8217; page, &#8216;services&#8217;, &#8216;history&#8217;, and so on. Probably about 5 or 6 pages.If not, I can write or co-write very nice content for you at $50 per page. If you write it yourself and all I need to do is load it in, there is no extra charge &#8211; this is just included.</p>
<p>Of course I will also consult with you every step of the way to make sure the navigation menu has the pages you want and the home page has the content and images you want.</p>
<p><strong>Images</strong></p>
<p>Images or pictures really make a website and I will let you advise me whether you want me to source images for you or whether you will supply them. If there is any graphic design to be done, let&#8217;s say you want text superimposed on an image for the feature gallery, and this font should match the website template &#8211; I will get a designer to do this for $50 an hour, if it is anything trickier than I can do myself.</p>
<p>The other part of content is what we put on the site for Search Engine Optimization&#8230;..</p>
<p><strong>SEO Content</strong></p>
<p>Seo content is written specifically to rank your site for particular keywords. Total price per article is $20 per page. The articles are outsourced intitally, and then reviewed by me personally so that the English. spelling and meaning is perfect, and then posted to your page.</p>
<p>I would recommend you order about 5 articles per keyword if the keyword was competitive, and one if the keyword was easy. I would allow about $500 for content initially. I will advise on this after we have picked out keywords, which ones we order more articles for.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t HAVE to have the SEO articles accessible on the homepage. For example, you might have a page we create with the url:</p>
<p>http://www.vertigrated.com.au/asbestos-removal-sunshine-coast/</p>
<p>which will show up in search results for &#8216;asbestos removal sunshine coast&#8217; &#8211; but you don&#8217;t necessarily have to &#8216;show&#8217; that site in the navigation menu. It is just a page that exists &#8216;under the hood&#8217; to drive traffic to your site. We can talk about this concept anyway!</p>
<p><strong>Content Leverage &#8211; also known as &#8216;Article Marketing&#8217;</strong></p>
<p>In order to really get cranking in the ranking (no pun/rhyme intended!) &#8211; I use a site called submityourarticle.com which is a paid membership site. I submit one of our articles that we have had written, and I rewrite it one sentence at a time, and this article is then &#8216;spun&#8217; into lots of unique variations, and then submitted in it&#8217;s multiple forms to article sites all over the internet, which is BRILLIANT for backlinks and authority, and part of my secret ninja strategy to get a site ranking for keywords (especially competitive ones)</p>
<p>As it takes me about an hour to do each article, plus the site costs me in US dollars per month, I charge $50 per article &#8216;spun&#8217; and submitted. I would recommend we do at least three spun article submissions for our major keywords that we want to target.</p>
<p><strong>Backlinks</strong></p>
<p>Backlinks are links to your site from other sites. This tells Google that your site is popular and has authority, which is why article marketing works so well. Another way to get backlinks is to BUY them! I use a site called Linkvana which is also a paid membership site. This gives me access to actual human outworkers who post actual blog posts about your site on high page-ranking sites, which then point back to your site. Links cost $5 each, and I would recommend at least ten per month for three months, or several per keyword if the keyword is competitive.</p>
<p><strong>Web 2.0 and Social Media</strong></p>
<p>Web 2.0 properties is the name for pages on hosted sites like myspace, facebook, twitter, and there are about 50 other popular ones. I am not sure how &#8216;deep&#8217; you want to go, but creating a facebook page and a twitter page (at least) for your business is a good idea. Facebook and Youtube are the second and third most popular sites in the world (after google) and it is a great idea to have a presence on those sites too. I can manage this for you, or just set them up for you, or you can set these up yourself. Either way, it is a good idea to have a presence on Facebook and Twitter (at least!) Say $500 for me to create a Facebook page, Twitter, and 3 other Web 2.0 sites (Squidoo Lens, Tumblr, and Blogger) and manage them for you for three months. I can tell you in detail what &#8216;managing them&#8217; means if you are interested in this.</p>
<p><strong>Other Web 2.0 properties</strong></p>
<p>Each additional Web 2.0 property that you set up creates a backlink to your page, and again this is fantastic for keyword &#8216;authority&#8217; and building your Google ranking. Videos are especially powerful and either Lea or I could create multiple videos for you that we post on multiple sites like youtube, metacafe, yahoo video, myspace and so on &#8211; all of which create backlinks to your site.</p>
<p>Videos can either be made by you (as we discussed) or made from pictures and text. Check out an example on Lea&#8217;s page <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.forumgroupevents.com.au/" target="_blank">event management </a> (video is top right!) These are GREAT to &#8216;convert&#8217; visitors on your page, and get backlinks too by posting the video on multiple video sites (I can do this for you as I have multiple video site memberships)</p>
<p><strong>The Big Guns</strong></p>
<p>Press releases are a fantastic way to appear like you are the Big Player in the market. This is a high form of article marketing, and prices start from only $50 per press release upwards, including submission to 150 &#8216;news&#8217; aggregators.</p>
<p>The idea is that if you write a catchy enough headline (or, we have it written for us) that seems newsworthy, and the press release is submitted to news aggregators on the web, you may just get printed in publications either online or offline, which can be massive exposure and leverage and authority for your brand. This is something for further down the track, perhaps month 2.</p>
<p><strong>Video</strong></p>
<p>I think video is the best way to get your website visitor&#8217;s attention and gain their trust quickly so they are more likely to do business with you. I think the BEST sort of video would be you actually talking about your business. I would charge $300 to either create a custom video for you from stills and text, or else to edit and brand footage you send me and upload it to your site plus video sites (for maximum leverage).</p>
<p><strong>Games</strong></p>
<p>You mentioned you might like a game on your page! Well, although later down the track you could get a custom branded game developed ( for say under $500 US if we outsource to an Indian coder!) &#8211; in the meantime I have done a bit of research and found some  fantastic free games that you can just embed in your site. So for a placeholder, I would just do that to begin with! No extra charge!</p>
<p><strong>Quote Summary</strong></p>
<p>In summary, I would charge <strong>$1500 </strong>to build you a site using one of the templates I suggested, or you might find another one you like either from studiopress, woothemes, or thesisthemes. I can do this within a week! I also have listed the specs to the sites I build, <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wordpress-specs" target="_blank">here.</a></p>
<p>If you would like a custom design (design contest) that&#8217;s optional and an extra<strong> $500</strong> and allow an extra two weeks for all the designs to come in and for you to choose one.</p>
<p>Content &#8211; I am assuming you will supply content for me to load &#8211; no extra charge for this unless you want me to help you write it, which is $50 a page, maximum say <strong>$250</strong> for 5 pages of content (about your business, etc)</p>
<p>SEO content &#8211; allow <strong>$500 </strong>to get some content written for the express purpose of ranking for keywords &#8211; includes me posting it to you page</p>
<p>Backlinks &#8211; Say <strong>$150 </strong>worth of Linkvana links spread over three months (over time is better, as Google likes things to look &#8216;natural&#8217;)</p>
<p>Social Media &#8211; <strong>$500 </strong>to create Web 2.0 sites for you on Facebook, Twitter and 3 others and manage them for you for 3 months</p>
<p>Video &#8211; Created from your footage or images and text and uploaded to multiple video sites linking back to your page &#8211; <strong>$300</strong> per video</p>
<p>Games &#8211; no charge for free games, about $500 if custom coded with your brand</p>
<p>My recommendation at minimum would be <strong>$2500, </strong>which includes website using template, content, SEO content, 2 press releases, and 10 backlinks a month for 3 months.</p>
<p>Everything else is optional or can be added later, such as custom design, video, and social media.</p>
<p>Nelson, I hope you enjoyed this proposal, I wanted it to be thorough but I hope it hasn&#8217;t overwhelmed you!</p>
<p>Anyway, I&#8217;ll leave you with a video game ( we could put this on your site!)<iframe src="http://www.miniclip.com/games/monster-trucks-nitro-2/en/webgame.php" frameborder="0" style="border:none;" width="590" height="433" scrolling="no"></iframe></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>There&#8217;s one more service that I do, which I call &#8216;video doctor&#8217;. I am only going to put a &#8216;package&#8217; price on because people like to know how much! If you have some footage that you have shot which you would like &#8216;styled&#8217;, I can do this for you, as I did for Juliana &#8211; and it looks like this!</p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
var playerhost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://yeahman.s3.amazonaws.com/ezs3js/secure/" : "http://yeahman.s3.amazonaws.com/ezs3js/player/");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + playerhost + "flv/65A7EA79-FDF7-6D4C-9BB59BC4F3C7BDEF.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
// ]]&gt;</script></p>
<p>PS, this is a global service because you are going to be supplying the raw footage.<br />
Price for this is $897 AUD for a 3 minute (max) edit and &#8216;styling&#8217; of your footage.</p>
<p>The only disclaimer I have is that generally I can make the pictures look good, but if the sound is bad (i.e. the voice sounds too far away from the camera, like it&#8217;s in a bathroom -, or else there&#8217;s too much background noise &#8211; the best I can do is compress it and EQ it a bit and add music in the background to sort of &#8216;forgive&#8217; the audio.</p>
<p>The video above is an actual example of exactly what I can do! The raw footage in this case was recorded with a domestic Sony Handycam which cost several thousand dollars.</p>
<p>But the point being, I can still turn drab footage into fab footage! See for yourself!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of the site traffic. Returning visitors convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site. The credibility issue vanishes. Hence, keep your visitors returning to your site with the following methods:</p>
<p><strong>1) Start a forum</strong></p>
<p>When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with others, all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.</p>
<p><strong>2) Keep a blog</strong></p>
<p>Keep an online journal, more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you add fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.</p>
<p><strong>3)  Carry out polls</strong></p>
<p>Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should consider adding to your site. They provide a quick option for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.</p>
<p><strong>4) Hold puzzles and quizzes</strong></p>
<p>Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions and award the high scorer to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.</p>
<p><strong>5) Frequently update with fresh content</strong></p>
<p>Frequently update your site with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one wants to browse a site that looks the same for ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!</p>
<p><strong>6) Make sure users can easily find your content</strong></p>
<p>Optimise your content to  target keywords. For example if I was a web  company in Guildford I might optimise content around <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.dncglobal.com/">web  design surrey</a>, <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.dncglobal.com/">website design guildford</a> or I might broaden the target phrase  and optimise for <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.dncglobal.com/">digital marketing surrey</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Having something go viral in their business would be a dream come true for any online marketer.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s no question that this kind of marketing event would greatly increase your traffic, and hopefully sales, and it would put a shot into your business esteem. It&#8217;s not the easiest task in the world to purposely create and cause something to become viral on the net. Trying to predict the trends and &#8220;hot&#8221; topics and ideas of the internet is something that not even the most gifted psychic can do. It really seems that it&#8217;s a matter of luck trying to figure out where the masses will turn their attention. You can, though, implement particular techniques in your marketing that will improve the odds of producing something viral.</p>
<p>Here are some things you can do.</p>
<p>But first, whenever you get people&#8217;s attention on your business, work like mad to keep it there. Your aim is to make your site sticky and keep them coming back for more. Should you create viral content, then make Part 2 for it. You&#8217;ll find this is extremely helpful to keep newer readers returning to your site. If you slack off at all, then you risk losing it all and things will return to &#8216;yesterday.&#8217; If you work hard, however, you can turn those one time viewers into repeat visitors and buyers of your products. So when you go viral, just know that lots more work is in your immediate future.</p>
<p>You can also associate your self with someone who&#8217;s highly popular.</p>
<p>You could attract a lot of attention by creating either a written or video review of a popular figure in your niche market. If you&#8217;re fortunate, and the person likes your content, you could get some reciprocal link activity back to your content &#8211; more traffic. Ideally, you want to make your review excellent, or eye catching, so you gain favorable attention and hopefully that person&#8217;s audience will give you their attention. If your content is really good, or interesting, your link could start spreading. So that could be just one method to &#8216;become viral.&#8217;</p>
<p>Find online communities you like and get involved, actively. Leave interesting and intelligent comments on blogs within your market, or you can join forums. Make sure that you are a part of the bigger conversation. People will take notice of you if your contributions are significant and helpful. You&#8217;ll often be able to link back to your site on comment forms and in forum sig files. Your chances of going viral with something will increase if you become known for always offering useful information that is relevant to people.</p>
<p>This is not any kind of an exact science, though. It&#8217;s impossible to say with any degree of accuracy what will have a viral effect, and what will not. However, there&#8217;s a lot you can do to make your content interesting and appealing to people. Slacking off and hoping someone notices you won&#8217;t get it done! Take a few easy steps to make your content and creations worthy of going viral. You might be surprised by the results!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Virus &#8211; What immediately enters your mind? Did it make you think about medical issues &#8211; being sick, etc? Or, maybe you have an online business, and you immediately thought of something going viral on the net, like content. This particular type of content creates intense interest on the net, and people naturally share it and pass it on to people they know. Viral content does not need extra marketing.</p>
<p>This is the online version of terrific word of mouth advertising. Ask any online marketer, they&#8217;ll tell you they would love to have something like that happen to them. Having viral content will bring you more traffic to your site than you can shake a stick at. So if you continue reading you&#8217;ll learn some nifty hints and ideas to help make this happen in your business.</p>
<p>After your viral content is out there, immediately get to work on new content. Using cheesy marketing like &#8216;come back next week&#8217; won&#8217;t cut it. This means increasing your production volume and frequency because you don&#8217;t want your new fans to get bored and move on. They will do that if they have to wait too long for your next installment of whatever it is you do. You can relax later after you have your process in place, etc. However, prior to that point, you&#8217;ll have to create and work on your projects every day.</p>
<p>Tell a story. People love great stories, and that will capture their attention like nothing else. Random news will usually be ignored, but if you can weave that into some interesting story &#8211; you can maybe have something viral going. You need to try to have people invest in you emotionally.</p>
<p>You can use a story to accomplish that very well. This is much more effective and popular than random facts, or ads. Do you agree that a really cool or interesting story is better at grabbing attention than an ad? A quick fact about something may catch someone&#8217;s eye, but it doesn&#8217;t make them want to know more like a story can.</p>
<p>In particular amazing videos on his site about the beautiful sights and wilderness which is the Australian outback.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s quite expensive when he does his tours simply because the Australian outback is so vast and there are such great distances to cover, but if you&#8217;re a movie star or a high net-worth individual with 20 grand to spend on the week of a lifetime, check out Lukey&#8217;s Tours and contact <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.myaustralianoutback.com/contact/">Lukey</a>. </p>

<p>Basically, I&#8217;ve got basically 2 indented listings on the first page of google (for video marketing queen) and multiple properties showing up on the next three pages, all of which I created. Which is cool.</p>
<p>But I notice that the one that looks the most &#8216;compelling&#8217; &#8211; i.e. if someone saw it they might feel they had to read it &#8211; is something about the video marketing queen being &#8216;deposed from google&#8217; &#8230;&#8217;if I have my SEO way with her&#8217;&#8230;.</p>
<p>now, here&#8217;s my little secret &#8211; that was me deliberately being a little tongue in cheek, a little risque &#8211; a little dare I say it negative &#8211; because unfortunately, in the world today, 85 percent of people will gravitate towards a negative spin headline, and only 15 percent will gravitate towards a positive headline. This means that &#8216;how to be an awesome record producer&#8217; will be less popular than a headline like &#8216;hallmarks of a crap record producer&#8217; &#8211; because the latter has that sort of catchy, controversial and negative spin.</p>
<p>And more people will just have to read it.</p>
<p>Sigh.</p>
<p>I guess if I wrote a post called &#8216;why the video marketing sucks&#8217; &#8211; actually, that&#8217;s given me a great idea! i&#8217;m gonna do that! (hehe. later tho!) </p>
<p>I learned the 85/15 thing from project marketer Brendan Nichols, and frankly, I was shocked. But I could see that the saying &#8216;shit sells newspapers&#8217; is true for exactly that reason.</p>
<p>I also learned about catchy headlines from Dean Hunt, in fact that&#8217;s a whole-nother story. For later, cause I&#8217;m tired. It&#8217;s 4.01 am and I&#8217;m still up, trying to work on this 30 day challenge stuff &#8211; and I have a 10am appointment tomorrow. Call me keen or what?</p>
<p>Anyway, I should settle down a bit soon (after Friday!)</p>
<p>Whoop&#8230; thanks for reading, if you made it thus far!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Update! Just refreshed my <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://marketsamuraifreetrial.com">Market Samurai</a>, and for video marketing queen, I went from #2 (which I held for two nights) to #14 (currently) &#8211; despite doing a pretty lengthy and informative post about my efforts last night. </p>
<p>Well maybe a little *too informative (ha!) &#8211; cause &#8216;someone&#8217; has obviously done a bit of work on their site overnight, and good for them.</p>
<p>Or is it just what they call the &#8216;google dance&#8217;?</p>
<p>Oddly, when I actually google the term, I am #3 and #4 (indented listing). I sorta don&#8217;t get it, but hey, they call this the google dance. In fact, I just refreshed Market Samurai, and now I&#8217;m #1 for video marketing queen (phrase match) but only #14 for broad match. I tell ya, it&#8217;s a complex lil&#8217; set of algorithms we dance with!</p>
<p>And it&#8217;s not the first time my actual google results vary with other people that live only 10k away and who I get to check; you would think they get served the same results as me, but that&#8217;s not always the case! </p>
<p>It&#8217;s also not the first time my google search results don&#8217;t match up with what Market Samurai tells me.</p>
<p>However; people say that Market Samurai is the most consistent and what you should base your results on (not what you see in your browser, in other words.)</p>
<p>In the end the google high rankings are going to be held by people who have deep websites (lots of sites), have been around a while (my sites for this particular 30 day challenge are obviously only 27 days old, or less than 5 days old (and for the record, the 5 day old sites are already in the top 50) &#8211; and &#8216;popular and trusted&#8217; &#8211; by either organic and natural backlinks over time, or &#8216;bought ones&#8217; as so many internet marketers do.</p>
<p>For the record, I have not purchased any &#8216;bought&#8217; links for the video marketing queen keyword, I still could, but how I feel about it now is&#8230; a little different.</p>
<p>My current positions are #1, #2, #2, #5 and #8 for my 5 primary keywords, so I am super super happy with that and hope that some will hold there until Friday (when the 30 day challenge wraps up &#8211; that&#8217;s our 30th day.)</p>
<p>Actually&#8230; geeze! I refreshed Market Samurai again (it&#8217;s now several hours later, as I never finished my post earlier) &#8211;  and it&#8217;s changed again!!!  &#8211; I&#8217;m #1, #2, #8, #9, #12 and #14.</p>
<p>Ooh, more confusing still; that&#8217;s for &#8216;broad match&#8217;. </p>
<p>For phrase match, I&#8217;m either &#8216;the same&#8217;, or &#8216;higher&#8217;.<br />
Like, for some keywords I&#8217;m like #8 broad and #1 phrase, and others I&#8217;m higher in broad match and not even on the chart for phrase match. So go figure&#8230;</p>
<p>And why do we all chase these google first page rankings like they&#8217;re the holy grail?</p>
<p>Three main reasons; one, our ego (it feels good! we won the race! we proved we had skills! &#8211; etc) -<br />
two &#8211; we want the traffic (because we think, the more people that go to our page because of our high search engine position, the more potential customers we may get &#8211; and thirdly, because it gives us a perception of &#8216;knows her stuff!&#8217; by people who seach for a term and find our site at or near the top.</p>
<p>The google dance goes on, I&#8217;m like&#8230; it&#8217;s a cork and an ocean thing. You float and then you get shoved down by a wave and then you bob up again and maybe even a little bounce. </p>
<p>Because in the end the universe of google is sort of like the quantum field; there&#8217;s unlimited potential, and it&#8217;s being co-created in the moment by everyone in the world who is submitting and posting and making videos and all that stuff &#8211; and constantly, constantly changing.</p>
<p>Like, the only thing constant is change. So&#8230; the dance goes on&#8230; the google dance, the dance of life, the dance of juggling my tasks for the week, and client work, and my music production and co-writing (had an amazing day with an ARIA winning producer today creating the beds for 5 new tracks) &#8211; and life goes on, and what fun it is!</p>
<p>Ranking update as of today &#8211; 20 May 2010 &#8211; #1, #2, #8, #8, #8, #14 for my 30 day challenge keywords. I&#8217;m happy. </p>
<p>Oh, PS, check out Suzette&#8217;s site about <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.improvesearchenginerankingnow.com">Seo Promotion</a></p>
<p>love, the video marketing queen (?) &#8211; to be continued! </p>

<p><a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-16-at-4.16.17-AM.png"><img src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-16-at-4.16.17-AM.png" alt="Ten Days" title="Ten Days" width="362" height="200" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-190" /></a>How about &#8211; in about ten days flat?</p>
<p>Well! I guess it does depend on definition, so let&#8217;s start there.</p>
<p>If you typed &#8216;video marketing queen&#8217; into google &#8211; well the thing is, that google is dynamic. So now if you typed that search term into Google, I could be in the results or not &#8211; but that the time of writing this post (which was only last night, 16 May, 2010) 0- but cause it was late, I didn&#8217;t finish writing the post, and saved it as a draft &#8211; I was not ranking for that keyword with this site on the first page of Google.</p>
<p>but blimey down, woke up this morning and I&#8217;m #2 in Google.</p>
<p>(now, this wasn&#8217;t just an accident, believe me. I did rather a lot of secret and not so secret things to get that result. But nothing any Internet Marketer or Video Marketing Queen worth her salt doesn&#8217;t know.</p>
<p>(Just shows how FAST this can happen, and how clever Google is at finding new, fresh, and relevant content to give to people. )</p>
<p>Now, about how I spotted this opportunity in the first place &#8211; or rather, Belinda helped me &#8211; I was still trying to concentrate on &#8216;video marketing &#8216; and &#8216;video marketer&#8217;. I&#8217;m #1 in google for &#8216;video marketing now&#8217;, &#8216;video marketing sydney&#8217; (with another property), #2 for &#8216;barbara griffin&#8217;, #2 for &#8216;video marketing queen&#8217;, #8 for &#8216;sydney video marketer&#8217; and &#8216;video marketer sydney&#8217;, and even #49 for &#8216;video marketer&#8217; which is a really great one to go for (yet much more competitive).</p>
<p>Now the point of being on the front page of google isn&#8217;t sort of anything meaningful in itself, though the ego likes it of course, when hard work has been done. It doesn&#8217;t mean a billion hits, or a million dollars, necessarily, because that (the million, LOL) depends on other things like if people come to my page and think I seem like someone cluey and fun who they&#8217;d love to do business with and get in contact with me &#8211; or hire me, or maybe even offer to buy this site from me for a bazillion dollars because of all the fun content and google rewards in the form of ranking that it&#8217;s not only already getting, but will continue to get (did I mention this site is only 25 days old????!!!)</p>
<p>Actually, forget google for a minute &#8211; I&#8217;ve been using <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://marketsamuraifreetrial.com/">market samurai </a> which pulls information not only from google but other sources, to give me a really slammin&#8217; picture of what&#8217;s going on, and who&#8217;s ranking for that keyword. That link I gave you give you a free trial for ten days, so do check it out even if you don&#8217;t buy it!</p>
<p>Market Samurai is perhaps a little gnarly to use at first, but it&#8217;s also easy. Once you have the right information inputted, you click &#8216;generate results&#8217; and the software basically colour codes it for you.</p>
<p>I.e. Lots of green means GO &#8211; AKA &#8211; opportunity!!!</p>
<p>So, Market Samurai (giving away one of my video marketing queen trade secrets here!) &#8211; tells me that out of the top ten results in google for the keyword &#8216;video marketing queen&#8217;, not one single site has the keyword in the title, URL, description, and header. </p>
<p>I wouldn&#8217;t exactly call it a paddock, but there are certainly green grass opportunities that <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.marketsamuraifreetrial.com">Market Samurai</a> shows me, when I analyse the competition.</p>
<p>So, because I am a bit of an SEO expert (ha!) and know how to spot an opportunity when I see one, I think BINGO! &#8211; because why? Because the sites that are ranking for that keyword are just sort of random sites, i.e. links to videos or popular blog posts on the subject.</p>
<p><div id="attachment_191" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 286px">
	<a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-16-at-4.26.17-AM.png"><img src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-16-at-4.26.17-AM.png" alt="" title="video marketing queen dot com" width="286" height="160" class="size-full wp-image-191" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">video marketing queen dot com</p>
</div>So, first step is that I see if I can buy the dotcom. Well, unfortunately someone already owns the dot com, but there is something odd going on here, because when I type site:theirurl.com into google, our dear old fave search engine has only indexed one page, and that&#8217;s a .swf file. </p>
<p>I try to click on the file, which gives me a video which takes up the whole screen and doesn&#8217;t load. I type the domain into google and it redirects to another domain. So I conclude &#8211; no SEO competition there!</p>
<p>I therefore confidently head over to namecheap.com and buy a bunch of domains.<br />
Hey, well they are available, and Market Samurai says green, which means, GO, right!</p>
<p><div id="attachment_205" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 300px">
	<a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-17-at-11.46.38-PM.png"><img src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-17-at-11.46.38-PM-300x266.png" alt="video marketing now current google index (the first bit of it)" title="video marketing now google index" width="300" height="266" class="size-medium wp-image-205" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">video marketing now google index</p>
</div>By the way this is what it is supposed to look like when you type site:yourdomain.com into google.</p>
<p>I then put up some websites on each domain, with a modicum of content on them to boot.</p>
<p>The .me hasn’t been indexed yet, which is not really surprising as I am not sure how much google values that suffix. Anyway; so now to tackle the other ten listings on the front page of google.</p>
<p>I may not take them all out by the end of the 30 day challenge, but I’m happy with achieving a #2 spot for the time being.</p>
<p>The moral of the story is: Never build your brand on ‘rented’ properties (i.e. Web 2.0/Social Media).</p>
<p>A true video marketing queen would never build her house on sand; but a palace, owned by her, and one that she can pass on to her descendents. (or, sell… hehe)</p>
<p>Talk soon… this has been a lot of fun and I have much much more to say on the subject of video marketing queens, so stay tuned!</p>
<p>Barb AKA ‘VMQ’ LOL</p>

<p>Do you want to boost your online presence and internet marketing strategy now and grab those sales? </p>
<p>It is a well-known fact that the success of any business depends on how well it is marketed. </p>
<p>With a large number of people relying on online products and services, the traditional approach is actually fast becoming out of date, and businesses are trending more towards developing their online presence. There is one technique you cannot afford not to use.</p>
<p><strong>What can you do that will act as a traffic generator and bring you lot of profitable business?</strong></p>
<p>The answer is very simple.</p>
<p>All it takes to really ramp up your internet presence, your effectiveness at communicating your message, and your traffic &#8211; is including some video marketing into your business promotional strategy.</p>
<p><strong>As the old saying goes, “Seeing is believing.” </strong></p>
<p>A video shows people what you are actually offering.</p>
<p>Very few people have the time and patience to read through all the content that you have included in text form, and therefore a video is just what you need to enhance the visibility of your products online.</p>
<p><strong>But how do you go about it? </strong></p>
<p>It has actually never been easier than right now. Creating a video is not as expensive as you think. With the latest technology available, all it requires from you is some creativity on how to shape it up &#8211; which can be outsourced to a video marketer if you are not confident in your own content creation abilities.</p>
<p>Planning out what you are going to present is very important, whether you are outsourcing to a video marketing queen or not. It is important to think from the perspective of your future customer. You need to put yourself in their shoes and make sure you deliver what they are looking for.</p>
<p><strong> Is this really going to help my business? </strong></p>
<p>You bet! And for the following reasons:</p>
<ul>
<li>Seeing a physical person talking is something that can bond with the customer, make them confident in their choice, therefore boosting their morale &#8211; giving them the confidence to make the next move.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Video marketing will not just give you a temporary traffic spike like PPC (Pay Per Click). Video marketing is an ongoing process, and permanent &#8211; your branded videos &#8216;out there&#8217; will continue to make sales for you over and over, ensuring you have prospects streaming into view your product for years to come.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>If you have just started your business, lack skills or are time-poor, then building your profile and improving you authenticity is much easier if you employ the services of a video marketer.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The major search engine crawlers also find you more easily with and internet marketing strategy that incorporates video, because of the high priority that the search engines award to videos.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>You do not have to be a tech-savvy person to be able to actually implement a video marketing campaign, as there are reputable companies that can help you with your video marketing strategy, content creation, and integrate that into your business online marketing campaign.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Video is the best way to demonstrate and prove your expertise in your particular field, thus making people feel confident when they are considering purchasing your products or services.</li>
</ul>
<p>Even if you are an offline marketer, having a video that you can provide to a prospective client is a valuable asset. There is really no better way to communicate to your customer or potential client that you have something of value to offer them. </p>
<p>By now, I am sure you agree that videos are very important in your business marketing strategy.</p>
<p>So, what are you waiting for?</p>

		<description><![CDATA[The current video marketing queen may well be deposed from google any minute now, if I have my SEO way with her. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a class="post_image_link" href="http://videomarketingnow.com/the-video-marketing-queen-who-me.html" title="Permanent link to The Video Marketing Queen (who me?)"><img class="post_image alignnone" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/video-marketing-queen.jpg" width="300" height="361" alt="Post image for The Video Marketing Queen (who me?)" /></a>
</p>Oh boyohboyohboy!!! (The queen is dead, long live the queen!)</p>
<p>(Warning, this is more of a personal blog post, so if you were after a bit of tight, sassy how-to/step by step kinda content, go read another post!)</p>
<p>So. About a week ago I was discussing this site and it&#8217;s search engine ranking with my bud and biz pardner, Ms Belinda Faulkner from <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://i-marketingedge.com">i-marketing edge</a>, AKA Cuzin Bee. (just riffing on the Andy Jenkins/Frank Kern/Cousin Trey thing. We love them!)</p>
<p>Belinda knows I&#8217;m in a mastermind group that&#8217;s doing a <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/the-30-day-challenge.html">30 day challenge</a> &#8211; because she is my #1 mastermind herself &#8211; and she also knows that I&#8217;ve picked one of the hardest keywords of the whole group &#8211; &#8216;video marketing&#8217; &#8211; with 1.39 million competing pages. (sigh.) </p>
<p>One of the sites currently in the top ten for that keyword has 208 MILLION pages (yep.) Another has 6,310 backlinks. (That&#8217;s gonna be hard to beat. D&#8217;ya THINK!)</p>
<p>Or is it?</p>
<p>How am I doing so far?<br />
I&#8217;m not going to tell you my ranking position yet because I am going to wait to break that news after the end of the 30 day challenge, and I admit that beating the site with the 208 million pages AKA amazon.com and the other site with the 6,310 backlinks is gonna be hard, but hey, there&#8217;s still 8 days to go, right!</p>
<p>However&#8230; the 30 day challenge is to be on the &#8216;front page of google&#8217; for a particular keyword &#8211; Ol&#8217; Cuzin Bee comes in; she suggested add to my list of keywords the term &#8216;video marketing queen&#8217;. It&#8217;s a variation of my main keyword &#8211; video marketing &#8211; but the &#8216;queen&#8217; version still gets a lot of searches, and is not very competitive.</p>
<p><div id="attachment_161" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 300px">
	<a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/video-marketing-queen.png"><img src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/video-marketing-queen-300x224.png" alt="video marketing queen" title="video-marketing-queen" width="300" height="224" class="size-medium wp-image-161" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">much better hair than me, but much worse SEO skills</p>
</div>On that note: though I am sure the very lovely reigning video marketing queen would not like to hear this, the reason this search term is not very competitive is because she has not done a very good job with her SEO, despite the fact that her brand name is &#8216;out there&#8217; &#8211; in my and Belinda&#8217;s observation she doesn&#8217;t &#8216;own it&#8217; (from an internet marketing point of view&#8217; &#8211; which is why she is vulnerable to a skilled internet marketer coming along and wiping her off the front page of google.</p>
<p>So.. thanks to Bee&#8230;. I found a new keyword&#8230; and to be honest, it will be quite fun to be the new reigning video marketing queen of google. And if the future ex queen gets the shits with me, I would be happy to back off the old SEO and let her have it back. Maybe. </p>
<p>Though, come to think of it, she should <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/contact">let me do her SEO</a> cause she obviously needs some help!!!</p>
<p>Yeahman!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna now read my latest post on one of my web 2.0 properties: I will tell you the link in the podcast.<br />
cheers!</p>

</p><p><a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/video_marketing.png"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-148" title="video marketer youtube marketing" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/video_marketing-300x135.png" alt="video marketer youtube marketing" width="300" height="135" /></a>In the last couple of weeks, when people ask me, hey Barb &#8211; what have you been working on lately? &#8211;  I&#8217;ve been saying</p>
<p><em>&#8220;madly busy with music producing (I&#8217;m a </em><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.barbaragriffin.net"><em>sydney music producer</em></a><em>) and </em><a href="http://videomarketingnow.com"><em>video marketing</em></a><em> and building my site out for the </em><em><a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/the-30-day-challenge.html">30 day challenge</a>!</em><em>&#8221; </em></p>
<p>- and then we end up in a discussion about what being a video marketer actually means &#8211; because many people don&#8217;t actually know the difference between being a video marketer,  as opposed to a straight out video production service.</p>
<p>So, let me explain.</p>
<p>Yes, video production is a skill that any video marketer needs to either have, or outsource. (shameless plug for my <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/services">video marketing service</a>) &#8211; but video marketing is more than just video production.</p>
<p>Even though: yes, video marketing does involve videos, which have to be created somehow, by someone.</p>
<p>But it&#8217;s like: an internet marketer has different skills to a web designer.</p>
<p>Case in point: &#8216;ugly&#8217; one page one column websites with red writing and a buy now button at the bottom -</p>
<p>(you know the sort I&#8217;m talking about, right?) -</p>
<p>- can and do SOOOO much more business than a site based on flash animation that may have cost the business 50 grand or more &#8211; (sigh) and gets no traffic. No enquiries. No sales. You with me?</p>
<p>Just like an internet marketer doesn&#8217;t have to be a graphic designer, which is a specialist skill that can be hired  - a video marketer does not have to have to be a camera operator, clapper loader, director, stylist, editor, scriptwriter, presenter, sound designer &#8211; or anything else &#8211; though of course a lot of us do pick up those skills &#8211; they&#8217;re not essential.</p>
<p>Cause you can outsource, baby.</p>
<p>Okay, now we&#8217;ve got that point cleared up, the point is that however you get your marketing video created, you&#8217;re a video marketer when you start to use that video online to generate sales, enquiries, confidence, trust, and interest in your product or service.</p>
<p>Sounds good, right? (Correctamundo!)</p>
<p>Did I mention that yutube gets 100 million views a day?</p>
<p>Oh, you&#8217;re like, &#8216;Yawn, that&#8217;s old news from october 2009. It gets more than that now!&#8217;</p>
<p>It does.</p>
<p>OMG, growth industry.</p>
<p>Do not let your lack of video production skills stop you. (you can outsource)</p>
<p>Do not let your camera-shyness stop you. (outsource a video presenter!)</p>
<p>My message in summary, in case I haven&#8217;t been clear?</p>
<p>get into video marketing now!</p>
<p>cheers -</p>

<p><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Belinda_Faulkner"></a></p>
<p><strong>What is Video Marketing?</strong></p>
<p>Marketing is basically the promotion of a product or service. Video     marketing therefore is the use of video to promote a product or service.   Marketing videos are some of the hottest things on line.</p>
<p><strong>Why Video Marketing is the Internet Marketer&#8217;s Dream</strong></p>
<p>Marketing online you need to stand out from the crowd. You need to grab attention and do it quickly. It is estimated that you have three seconds to grab someone&#8217;s attention when they land on your website. Three seconds is not much time. Unlike my generation in which many of us continuously feel like we are playing electronic catch-up or even chasing there are whole generations now that have grown in the &#8220;on demand&#8221; age of instant information.</p>
<p>Online marketing video satisfies that need. It is a way to deliver easy to digest information, quickly and simply whilst capturing attention and holding interest. It also serves to build personal connection which is not otherwise easy to do online. We buy from people we trust. Video creates trust. Video testimonials have a high conversion rate because people connect with real people sharing their stories.</p>
<p><strong>Video Works For You</strong></p>
<p>Almost everyone would have heard of videos going viral, been forwarded one or watched one. YouTube has become a household name and acts effectively as a search engine in it&#8217;s own right. Good video and smart SEO distribution can generate some real search engine love.</p>
<p>Video keeps searchers on your site longer which again can get you some search engine credit. Videos build trust, create connection and help boost search results.</p>
<p><strong>Internet Video Marketing now or never</strong></p>
<p>Why now or never? I work with <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.i-marketingedge.com" target="_new">business</a>. I work with video and I see two trends when it comes to video. The first being now &#8211; jump in with both feet and produce terrible video with bad lighting, poor audio and speakers almost painful uncomfortable to watch.</p>
<p>The second being never &#8211; suffering almost perfectionist paralysis never creating a video in the belief it has to be perfect &#8211; of mass movie production standards. Marketing with video does not have to be stressful or hard. A little thought before starting can work wonders.</p>
<p>A few tests can check lighting is adequate and you&#8217;d be amazed what some well placed lamps can achieve. Pick a quiet location with minimal background noise. Practice your pitch so it just rolls off the tongue on film. Get your business video marketing now. There are enough people committed to never. You can give your business the edge by marketing with video.</p>
<p>Video Marketing Now <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com" target="_new">http://videomarketingnow.com</a> is committed to helping you get your business online and marketing with video. Before you invest in expensive video marketing production review the resources and tips available at video marketing now.</p>

</p><p><a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-07-at-12.32.02-AM.png"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-134" title="video marketer" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Screen-shot-2010-05-07-at-12.32.02-AM-300x103.png" alt="video marketer" width="300" height="103" /></a>If you are reading this article, you probably already appreciate the need of using videos to advertise your product or service.</p>
<p>Creating a video is not exactly a cinch, as there&#8217;s a fair bit to it, but it’s certainly possible for just about everyone with some basic computer skills and equipment and a keen interest.</p>
<p>However, like any other skill, you first need to know the basics, what you need to do, and how to do it &#8211; and then build your skill from there.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Basics:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Have a good topic.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Before you even start thinking about visuals, you need to be clear on your topic.</p>
<p>I.e. &#8211; What you will be advertising, what you want the video to convey &#8211; basically, the information you will be relaying to your audience.</p>
<p>The way you present your video will affect its ratings. Therefore, to improve your presentation, it may help you to write a script, and gather all your materials and information, charts, images at the planning stage, and possibly write a script, or at least some bullet points.</p>
<p>Get all these things ready before you step in front of the camera.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Have your equipment ready.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Have your cameras, lighting, and shooting crew (if you are using other people to help you) &#8211; or tripod (if you are not)  - ready.</p>
<p>Test everything to see that it works well, and never be complacent &#8211; be diligent.</p>
<p>Check batteries are charged!</p>
<p>Check the camera settings, check the sound is working, check that you have enough storage for the amount of video you are intending to shoot, or have the ability to download part way throughout the shoot to clear memory if necessary.</p>
<p>It would be a shame to lose the shoot and have to do it over, just for the sake of a flat battery or other minor technicality.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Rehearse. </strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Rehearsal can definitely improve your &#8216;act&#8217;, especially if you haven&#8217;t done much on-camera presenting. Your public don&#8217;t know this &#8211; and so you may have to &#8216;fake it till you make it&#8217; a little bit at the beginning.  Attitude, as in life, is everything &#8211; particularly on camera.</p>
<p>Sure, you can rehearse in front of your bathroom mirror (I won&#8217;t tell anyone!) or in front of a small audience, or in front of a web-cam, or even do a test-record and watch it back. Even rehearsing in your mind before you fall asleep at night can help set your confidence to the right level.</p>
<p>Using a mirror or test recording can help you analyse your facial expressions and how they are coming across, so you can adapt and correct them if necessary. In the process, you will also hopefully overcome any self-consciousness &#8211; which doesn&#8217;t come across well in a video.</p>
<p>If you see that you are doing things like frowning, saying &#8216;um&#8217;, looking in a direction other than the camera, etc &#8211; when reviewing your test recording or in the mirror &#8211; luckily, these are all things you can rehearse and correct before shooting for real.</p>
<p>And finally &#8211; if you are intending to become a successful video marketer whose videos will convert well &#8211; make sure to make your video marketing decisions based on what you think the audience wants and would like to see and hear &#8211; since your online marketing video is for them, not you.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Shoot like a qualified and skilled person &#8211; even if you are not</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p>Do it like the professionals do!</p>
<p>If you first have to refer to a professional video marketer or even to a book or a how-to video before shooting, do it.</p>
<p>Yes, there is a learning curve, and you are on it somewhere at some point. However, it&#8217;s really not that hard. Just start where you are. Learn what you need to learn, and then go for it. You&#8217;ll find yourself learning more skills naturally as you do more video production.</p>
<p>Use the right amount of light and the best angles. This is actually key,  so do your best.</p>
<p>If you can achieve a good picture and sound quality, you will be doing well &#8211; in fact, better than most!</p>
<p>A tip is to stay fairly close to the camera if you are using a mike built in to the camera. This way you will optimise the audio you want to hear (such as your voice) and minimise the background noise.</p>
<p>Keep your video short and succinct &#8211; don&#8217;t waffle.</p>
<p>Boldness and confidence tends to translate much better on camera than shyness.</p>
<p>Shoot several takes, so you can choose the best.</p>
<p>Shooting in manageable chunks is often easier than running a whole script from beginning to end.</p>
<p>Be honest and fair about your product &#8211; and don&#8217;t say anything you do not mean sincerely, because that will show.</p>
<p>Tell the truth! And above everything else, don&#8217;t forget to have fun! A fun upbeat video will &#8216;sell&#8217; so much more effectively than a dreary, serious tone.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Edit and enhance the video. </strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Remove all the unnecessary footage that you don&#8217;t need. You can now add text, video effects such as fade ins, fade outs, cross dissolves and other effects, plus music, and intercut images &#8211; and whatever else you like.</p>
<p>Video editing is an art-form in itself.  The final quality of your edit is going to be up to you. It may come down to your budget if outsourcing &#8211; or your equipment, skill and time if you&#8217;re editing yourself.</p>
<p>When you think you&#8217;ve finished, replay the video over a few times to triple check it, before exporting to the optimal file format.</p>
<p>If you have shot your video at high quality, you may want to use a compressed format such as .flv or .mov for export. If you have shot on a mini-video camera such as flip phone or I-phone, you may just be able to keep the quality at maximum.</p>
<p>You will need editing software for the editing and exporting part.  Windows Movie Maker or Camtasia are good for PC users, or I-Movie is awesome if you&#8217;re using a Mac.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t upload your movie to any website until you&#8217;re are certain that it is perfect &#8211; i.e. proof-view the final render one more time.</p>
<p>You may want to test the movie on a small audience to watch it for you and point out the mistakes you may have missed, before your final export. However, if you do this, be prepared for unwanted criticism from well-meaning friends and family!</p>
<p>Sometimes you might even need to remind yourself, and your friends, that your video is not going to be perfect.</p>
<p>My mentor taught me that &#8216;Good Enough is Good Enough&#8217; &#8211; it is better to upload a video that is pretty good, or good enough &#8211; than have nothing at all.</p>
<p>Not that I am advocating mediocrity for a second!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s just that as a &#8216;recovering perfectionist&#8217; myself, I realise that I could have been much more productive if I had just relaxed a little. And you should keep that in mind too, even while also striving to learn and achieve the highest standards you can manage.</p>
<p>When your marketing video is ready, upload it to as many video sites as you have time and energy to submit to. This is because each of these sites leverages your video to a new set of potential viewers and searchers.</p>
<p>There are a large range of sites that will host video for you to choose from, but start with YouTube and Facebook, as they are the most popular.</p>
<p>Exposure to multiple video sharing sites simply means more potential traffic coming your way, so any additional sites you submit to is a bonus.</p>
<p>Once you have submitted your videos, use social bookmarking to bookmark your blog posts and the videos themselves, and invite friends to share your links, in order to benefit from viral views.</p>
<p>And &#8211; congratulations, you&#8217;re now a video marketer!</p>

<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Since email marketing has become somewhat of a difficult marketing venue, due to spamming, it was only a matter of time before a new way to market emerged: Internet video marketing. Internet video marketing, at present, is the best marketing tool available because our culture is visually oriented.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">If given the option, most people would choose to watch a small video clip as opposed to reading boring Web content. When done properly, video marketing can be a very effective tool that will help you grow your business and increase sales to a point where you are happy. Just remember, effective doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean expensive.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">One of the biggest Internet video marketing mistakes is making a video just to make a video. The Internet is not the place for a &#8220;monkey see monkey do&#8221; mentality. This will do more harm than good. There is a lot more to an effective video campaign than just putting together a video so you have something to add to your website.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">When Internet video marketing is used properly and effectively it can be a great tool to help improve your lead generation and sales. Some Internet websites have reported that streaming videos have increased their conversion rate by as much as 33%. A statistic this good cannot be ignored.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">One of the main advantages of using videos for marketing, is that a video gets to the point much quicker than the traditional text format approach, so don&#8217;t make your customers sit through a 30-minute video on the history of your company, chances are they aren&#8217;t interested.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">However, Internet video marketing is not as easy and clear-cut as writing a blog post or a news story. Here are some tips and tricks so that you can use Internet video marketing to its fullest potential; reaping the rewards of increased sales and improving your leads.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Don&#8217;t take the video you just made, put it into a video directory and wait for the video to bring prospects to you. It doesn&#8217;t happen that way. If marketing was that simple there would be less time spent doing it. It is important to optimize using more than just the video search engines. Utilize the content search engines; they are there, so use them.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Name your video. It is highly unlikely that your video will show up in the search engine if its name is &#8220;32541859.mov&#8221; rather than something like &#8220;Internet-Video-Marketing.mov.&#8221; Use keywords in your video title and description. Your video will be found much easier by the search engines in order to index it properly.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Make your video short, zippy and professional. It should only take you 2-3 minutes to say what it would take someone 10 minutes to read on a website. If you grab a customer&#8217;s attention within the first 30 seconds there is a good chance they will watch the entire video. It also increases your chance of making a sale.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">If you are linking to your video from other pages on your website, use anchor text. Anchor text, which is the visible text in a hyperlink, carries a lot of weight when it comes to search engine algorithms because the linked text is usually relevant to the landing page. Include RRS feeds allowing viewers to subscribe.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">RSS feeds are an automatic way for your customers to receive content, as opposed to having to do a manual check. Double-check to make sure that the video file you submit has the proper extension. A good marketing video with the wrong extension will not lead to an increase in sales if your potential customers can&#8217;t view it.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Submit your internet marketing videos to the venues computer turn to for videos, such as YouTube, Google Videos and Yahoo! Videos. One great benefit to submitting with one or all of these is that your video will be hosted for free, keeping your website bandwidth for your customers. Currently with 6.1 million YouTube registered users; that is a lot of potential customers in one place you have the ability to reach.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Online marketing is being redefined by video marketing. Businesses are communicating with their customers in ways that weren&#8217;t heard of 10 years ago. Yet in another few years, it is quite likely that new ways of marketing will be developed and used, possibly even replacing the newest trend of today: Internet video marketing. But until that time comes, learn the basics of how to video market successfully and enjoy the ride to the top.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="color: #c0c0c0;"><br />
Author: Todd Ash</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">The definition of a viral video is basically a video clip which gains widespread popularity through the process of Internet sharing, typically through e-mail, IM messages, blogs and other media sharing websites. Brick Marketing&#8217;s viral video marketing is a service that combines the creation of a viral video and online video marketing.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Viral video marketing is a super way to build your online brand, visibility, among a host of other online business benefits. Take some lessons from the big guys about how to use video marketing the right way, it&#8217;s about more than just traffic.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">The amateurs like &#8220;Brookers&#8221; and &#8220;Lonelygirl&#8221; publish their video clips for fun and notoriety, and the big corporations like Nike, Warner Bros, and MTV2 produce and publish them in order to drive traffic to their web sites and sell more of their products or services. Because the advertising cost relatively inexpensive. And it produces results.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Todays youth now spend more time online that watching television. It&#8217;s all about pageviews and favourites and bookmarks and links on blogs. Your YouTube video can assume viral status and be passed on via emails and blogs. Even be spotted on Facebook walls. Since the audience themselves decide whether or not your video is worthy enough to become viral or not. You better make sure it is. That is where StudioX comes in.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">This piece also includes a best practices rundown by Justin Kirby, managing director of viral marketing company DMC, who did the planning, seeding and tracking for this campaign. The creative was produced by Maverick Media.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">People aren&#8217;t just watching video online, either. They&#8217;re taking it with them by downloading video clips to their handheld devices like the video iPod and Sony&#8217;s video game console, the PlayStation Portable. Now cell phones have the ability to watch YouTube videos.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">For the online entrepreneur (the web site owner seeking to make money online) the purpose of your you tube video is to bring traffic to your site. The You tube video site is a phenomenon which has taken the internet by storm and unless you&#8217;ve been off in a far away place, you will not doubt have seen one of the many videos which have been popularized by the site such as Tyson the roller-skating dog. Did you know that You Tube gets twice as much traffic as Google. That means that you tube alone, gets one million hits a day.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Do a video contest because everyone else is. This online-video &#8220;contest&#8221; fad will continue, and it will become more difficult to activate consumers to promote your product. Do a search for &#8220;video contest&#8221; on Google and you&#8217;ll see four or five different ads for contests.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">The David Chappelle video contest is a good example of a nice idea with some executional flaws. First, it didn&#8217;t initially promote the contest on its own website because it wanted to focus people on buying the DVD. Second, it petered out. Contest winners weren&#8217;t announced and insufficient media budget promoted the contest. To give you an idea of how abused contests are getting, there was a summer promotion for a mayonnaise manufacturer looking for videos about may recipes.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">However their are numerous ways to monetize viral videos. From contextual ad programs like Adsense, Yahoo Publishers Network and Chitika to affiliate programs and product sales &#8220;revenue sharing is just one aspect of earning money through the use of online video.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Viral video marketing is the gift that keeps on giving. Internet video marketing is going to be the next big thing in SEO. The &#8220;on-demand&#8221; characteristic of video marketing is another great benefit. Why video marketing is the most powerful and effective method to earn profits The truly simple steps to get setup in a flash and add videos to your web pages Why you&#8217;re suffering, even if you don&#8217;t know it, if you&#8217;re only using other advertising and promotion techniques. The big reasons why video marketing is so effective and how you can capitalize on them and so much more.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Viral videos are those videocam recordings that get spread around the internet like wild fire. Without anyencouragement, people share a video clip with everyone they know. And within days, thousands of people have seen the video clip.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Facebook: Share, share, share. Other ideas include creating an event that announces the video launch and inviting friends, writing a note and tagging friends, or posting the video on Facebook Video with a link back to the original YouTube video.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Look at the evolution from where the internet first started. It started out with everything being free. Natural search was first starting. You could actually go to the top of a natural search engine within a day or two of launching a site and start getting traffic almost immediately.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #c0c0c0;">Kevin Nalts is one of the most-viewed YouTube comedians with more than 650 short online videos seen more than 25 million times. By day he&#8217;s a Marketing Director at a Fortune 100 company, and he speaks, writes and consults in the area of online marketing and viral video.</span></p>

</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #e0e0e0;">Making Video Marketing Work For Your Business Author: Matthew Bredel There&#8217;s something a little sneaky about video marketing. This method that currently has so much impact in the online world has the ability to come off more like entertainment than a form of advertising, but it works! How many marketing methods are truly able to pull this off? As the ultimate tool to connect with customers in a unique and creative way, video marketing has proven to be a powerhouse when it comes to increasing traffic and the all important return-on-investment. Perhaps you have never considered video marketing for yourself or have just thought the method was out of your league; now may be the right time to try your hand at something that is producing massive results for IMers-both the veterans and the newbies. The popularity of video is evident in YouTube video traffic numbers alone. More than 1,000,000 videos are viewed on YouTube each and every day. The amount of time people spend watching these videos is significant, and it you may be easier than you think to get your videos viewed by your target market. In addition to the sheer traffic videos attract, another benefit to video marketing is its cost effectiveness and ease-of-use once you get the hang of it. You also have the freedom to make the kind of video you want to make. You can go all out and do something very wild and crazy and creative to get the attention of viewers, or you can produce videos that are information-packed and provide an educational service to your customers. The choice is yours, but ultimately the purpose of video marketing is the same as the purpose of blogs, articles and advertisements: TRAFFIC. With your videos, you are essentially establishing a connection with potential customers, giving them a taste of who you are and what your business is all about. Many marketers believe it&#8217;s much easier to create such a connection through video rather than through the written word or even a flashy advertisement. The reason? Today&#8217;s customers are very visual, and they like to be entertained, which is why videos fit the bill quite nicely. Where do you begin with video marketing? If you are trying to get your video marketing efforts off the ground, you may find it helpful to go with a system to help you step-by-step. Traffic Geyser is one program that guides you through the process involved in the creation, distribution and promotion of your videos. It can be of great benefit to have all you need for your video marketing efforts through one easy-to-use site and system. However, if such a program isn&#8217;t in your budget, it is also possible to find what you need online quite often for free. From video marketing tips and strategies to free tools to help you create and distribute your videos, some solid research will help you to come up with what you need to use video marketing effectively. While for some marketers the video creation process is most challenging, for others it is coming up with ideas and a purpose for the actual video that provides a stumbling block. If you are stumped for ideas when it comes to your videos, consider some of these: &#8211; Pump up your customer list by offering free informational videos in exchange for their contact info. &#8211; Use videos to provide buzz and excitement for a specific product launch. &#8211; Produce videos that can add value to your site with an educational video series or another way to provide a service to your site visitors. &#8211; Help your visitors get to know who you are through introducing yourself in a video. &#8211; Pitch your product or service with a creative video or two. Even if video marketing is foreign territory, don&#8217;t let the unknown intimidate you. The sky&#8217;s the limit when it comes to increasing your traffic potential and sales using video. Even a newbie to the IM world can develop a video of worth to potential customers. Now is the time to get involved in this video marketing wave. If you don&#8217;t, someone else will, and they may just take your customers. <p class="wp-caption-text">Video Marketing</p>
</div>Video Marketing is possibly *the* most effective marketing strategy that you could use right now.</p>
<p>Think about it: your customers can see and hear what your product or service is about. Works especially well when there is something you want to explain or demonstrate about your product or service, or if you want to communicate a personal message to your potential clients.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve seen the power of video marketing in action and definitely want to get amongst it, but lack skills, software, equipment or time, then the team at Video Marketing Now can help!</p>
<p><strong>Video Email Marketing is the New old-school Direct Mail</strong><strong>.</strong></p>
<p>But it&#8217;s the same principal &#8211; a personal delivery of your message right into your customer&#8217;s inbox, for them to read at home or work, at a time that&#8217;s convenient to them.</p>
<p><strong>Video Testimonials</strong></p>
<p>These days, it&#8217;s just not a testimonial unless it&#8217;s a video testimonial.</p>
<p>We stopped trusting those non-video testimonials on websites long ago &#8211; they&#8217;re too easy to fake.</p>
<p>However, a good video testimonial offers the all-important social proof.</p>
<p>Proof that an actual human has been happy with the product or service they are endorsing.</p>
<p>The internet has been all about social proof and peer referrals these days, specially since everyone has got used to Web 2.0 properties and uses them like mad. (think facebook, twitter, myspace, linked in, etc.)</p>
<p>Google is still number one, sure, but Facebook is #2, and Youtube is #3 &#8211; though they can swap places on any given day. And as Youtube is actually a search engine in it&#8217;s own right, it&#8217;s worth just as much time targetting youtube in your website&#8217;s SEO (search engine optimization) efforts as it is to concentrate on Google, since people are spending so much time on youtube these days.</p>
<p>And it&#8217;s growing! (no wonder Google bought Youtube&#8230;)</p>
<p>Video SEO has even got it&#8217;s own term these days &#8211; VSEO.</p>
<p>Google loves video, apparently. Although all we marketers can do is speculate, by running various tests and observing what happens &#8211; because Google doesn&#8217;t publicly divulge most of their their ranking algorithm criteria &#8211; experts believe that if you have video on your page, you will get an extra Google brownie point or two.</p>
<p>Which helps your rankings.</p>
<p><strong>Video Marketing does not have to be expensive</strong></p>
<p>Video Marketing does not have to be expensive.</p>
<p>In the old days &#8211; sure, specially if you went the whole hog and shot on 35mm, with lights, multiple cameras, a sound recordist, hair, makeup, and an expensive edit, with possibly even some animation and special effects, done by rows of mac boffins &#8211; oh &#8211; and an original score &#8211; then, yes. It was, and still is, big bucks to make films.</p>
<p>Advertising agencies regularly spend 1M of client money on a TVC (and the rest!) &#8211; but these days, even bootstrappers and SMEs can afford video marketing. Youtube video quality is improving, but right now, footage shot on an iphone on a 2 megapixel camera is still perfectly acceptable (depending on what you&#8217;re doing, of course, and who it&#8217;s for.)</p>
<p>Basically, if it&#8217;s valuable content, that&#8217;s more important than camera quality. Case in point: mobile phone footage being broadcast on the global television news, if some person got an exclusive piece of footage of an important event that the network news crews didn&#8217;t capture with all their fancy equipment.</p>
<p>Hollywood aside; my point is that if you want to connect with your customers, over-producing your video may actually have the opposite effect on your customers.</p>
<p>(I have seen more than one &#8216;corporate video&#8217; that dressed up the company staff as if they were on CNN &#8211; but &#8216;not in a good way&#8217;.)</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t want your potential customers to watch your video marketing and thing &#8216;what a bunch of w#%(*^nkers!&#8217; now, do you? Or worse still, think &#8216;no wonder their prices are so high, they&#8217;re wasting all this money doing expensive ego-driven marketing bumf!&#8217;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t risk putting your customers off by overproducing a video you think is spectacular and makes you look like a legend, but which won&#8217;t do anything to make your customer bond with you or want to do business with you.</p>
<p>You got to keep it REAL.</p>
<p>Not that I am advocating crappy production levels; just that your video production company who wants to charge you $10,000 per minute is probably going to be overkill for video marketing purposes.</p>
<p>You want your customers to watch your video marketing and think &#8216;Wow! I was just looking for something like this on google and look what I found! These guys seem like the perfect thing for me right now! I think I&#8217;ll even forward this video to my hubby/ best friend/ business partner to check out!&#8217;</p>
<p>Best case scenario; your video marketing goes viral! (It happens!) -</p>
<p>Obviously if you are a high end firm you can pitch your video a little higher, and make it look close to television standard, in terms of lights, sound, miking, music, and screen resolution. It largely depends on your market.</p>
<p>But I do see a lot of mistakes made by companies who spend a lot of money on video marketing and don&#8217;t do it right.</p>
<p>What video marketing done correctly should do is bridge the gap between a complete stranger watching your video on the web, and someone who may want to do business with you &#8211; right now!</p>
<p><strong>Keepin&#8217; it REAL</strong></p>
<p>Keepin&#8217; it REAL. That&#8217;s what works today.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re in the era of authenticity. BS-artists will no longer be tolerated.</p>
<p>Your potential customers want to be able to VIBE you.</p>
<p>In private, without you being there to hassle or hard-sell them.</p>
<p>People want to decide all by themselves whether they want to do business with you, and then come to you and do exactly of their own accord &#8211; not because you forced them into it.</p>
<p>Yes: you are selling to them, you have something to offer; but your customers should feel as though they chose to do business with you, or buy from you. And video marketing is such a brilliant way to be able to get your potential customer to that point, where they choose you.</p>
<p>Video Marketing is the best way I know to get your honest message out to your potential clients in a way that they will enjoy receiving it.</p>
<p>So, to conclude (though I could go on all day! ) &#8211; I am convinced that video marketing is absolutely the best website marketing strategy you could concentrate your online marketing efforts into right now.</p>
<p><strong>Get into it!</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a class="post_image_link" href="http://videomarketingnow.com/the-30-day-challenge.html" title="Permanent link to The 30-Day Challenge"><img class="post_image alignnone" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/30daychallenge.gif" width="134" height="134" alt="Post image for The 30-Day Challenge" /></a>
</p> okay, so a bit of background information to this site, if anyone&#8217;s interested!</p>
<p>The thing is, I&#8217;ve been a <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.barbaragriffin.net">Sydney music producer</a> for about 15 years and over the last year have branched out into multimedia, seo-optimized content for websites marketing a product or service, getting people with existing websites more organic search engine traffic, and video.</p>
<p>So basically for the last 6 months or so I have been doing as much video marketing, marketing video production, as I have audio, sound mixing, sound effects, sound design, songwriting for television shows, themes and TV commercials and jingles, (i&#8217;m signed to Sony/ATV and on my third publishing deal with them) &#8211; and all that other stuff I talk about too like optimizing your video for seo and so on &#8211; this is because I&#8217;m also an internet marketer.</p>
<p>However, I didn&#8217;t have a dedicated website for this. Sure, I had other websites &#8211; like <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.icanbuildyouawebsite.com/">I Can Build You a Website!</a> which is my wordpress website building service, and <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.faststartwebformula.com/">Fast Start Web Formula</a>, which is my <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.faststartwebformula.com/">internet marketing coaching</a> and <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.faststartwebformula.com/">wordpress coaching</a> site, and even<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.i-marketingedge.com/"> i-marketingedge.com</a> (which I recommend you visit, to get instant access to our awesome (if we do say ourselves) video called the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.i-marketingedge.com/">online business blueprint</a> (totally free!)</p>
<p><div id="attachment_69" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 300px">
	<a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/niche-marketing.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-69" title="niche-marketing" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/niche-marketing.jpg" alt="Internet Marketing Niche" width="300" height="300" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">A Niche (as they call &#39;em in Internet Marketing circles!)</p>
</div>
<p>Anyway, I digress. So I had some sites related to my &#8216;niches&#8217; &#8211; as they call &#8216;em in internet marketing circles &#8211; but I didn&#8217;t have a dedicated site for my <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com">video marketing</a>.</p>
<p>However, I was in a mastermind group; an internet marketing mastermind group.<br />
And we decided that we were going to create a group product. We decided that an information product that taught people how to achieve front page in google rankings in one month (30 days) would be the go.</p>
<p>Everyone in the group won access by impressing internet marketer <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://nanacast.com/vp/89842/26291/">James Schramko </a> AKA <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://nanacast.com/vp/89991/26291/">Shrakmo</a> &#8211; here is the direct link to James&#8217; <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://nanacast.com/vp/89991/26291/">free report</a> that was the thing that got me started &#8211; anyway, so this mastermind group was formed after we all built a website at the last <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://nanacast.com/vp/91666/26291/">Fast Web Formula</a> seminar that showed we had implemented something we&#8217;d learned at the seminar.</p>
<p>So the winners were formed into a mastermind group, which James is private coaching (that was our awesome prize!) &#8211; however being in the mastermind group in itself has been an &#8216;interesting experience&#8217; at times (see <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.barbaragriffin.net/accountability.html">accountability</a> on my <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.barbaragriffin.net/">Barbara Griffin</a> personal website!).</p>
<p>So anyway, that&#8217;s the background of the group.</p>
<p>And this website is my &#8216;contender&#8217; for the 30-day challenge.</p>
<p>Now, here&#8217;s the thing: ALL of the other guys in the group picked a keyword that has only about 40,000-50,000 competing websites. I, however, have picked a keyword (&#8220;video marketing&#8221;, in case that wasn&#8217;t obvious! hehe) &#8211; that has 423,000 (i.e., ten times as hard).</p>
<p>So sue me: but I just thought it was the &#8216;right&#8217; keyword for me. It&#8217;s just that&#8230;. video marketing is what I do, duh. So, my keyword is my keyword. Right!</p>
<p>(okay, I have some sub keywords that I am also going to try and rank for, like &#8216;video email marketing&#8217; and &#8216;marketing video production&#8217; and so on, there are about 7 others that would be &#8216;easier&#8217;.)</p>
<p>but know this about me:<br />
Great quote from the outrageous, beautiful and impeccable <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.ramtha.com/">Ramtha</a>:<br />
( &#8211; from memory, so I hope I get this roughly right &#8211; )</p>
<p>&#8220;If you want an easy life, hit yourself over the head with a hammer. They&#8217;ll even bring the food to your bed!&#8221;<br />
- Ramtha (Like, do you get it? So funny, so ironic, so deep, so &#8216;YEAH!&#8217;)</p>
<p>As in; there is no such thing as an easy life.<br />
And I have never picked the easy option.</p>
<p>So, I really don&#8217;t know if I will be able to show up on page 1 of google when one searches for the term <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://videomarketingnow.com">video marketing </a> in 30 days. But I am damn well gonna try, without spamming, scamming, or asking my friends to help me (with the exception of the lovely <a href="http://twitter.com/tecknowoman">Belinda Faulkner</a> AKA <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://twitter.com/tecknowoman">tecknowoman,</a> who offered not only her help, but access to her <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=199849&amp;u=386877&amp;m=24596&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=">Linkvana</a> account. bless!)</p>
<p>Now the dark side of all this is if I am not successful, and the mastermind group has already said this to me, &#8216;Barb we could make an example of you how you didn&#8217;t follow the instructions and chose a keyword that was way too competitive and failed&#8217;.</p>
<p>However, here&#8217;s the thing.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s say the 30 day challenge is an analogy of &#8216;how to beat 40,000 people in 30 days&#8217; and that basically what I have done is raise the ante for myself, i.e. my actual challenge is ten times harder AKA &#8216;how to beat 423,000 people in 30 days&#8217; &#8211; then even if I only 50 percent get there, I&#8217;ve already achieved 500 percent better than the &#8216;achievable goal&#8217; aimed for by the others. Right?</p>
<p>So as far as I can see, I cannot fail. Right? Even if I &#8216;fail&#8217; by the rest of the group&#8217;s standards or even the 30 day challenge, if my task was harder, and I get a certain percentage of the way there, I&#8217;m all good with that.</p>
<p>And so be that!</p>
<p>Besides, I&#8217;ve got my (easier) backup keywords to rank for, provided I also target them, so my ego doesn&#8217;t get all battered and so we can prove that the 30 day challenge does actually 100 percent work.</p>
<p>(PS, this is going to be an amazing information product because we have actually been creating it in real time. seriously.!)</p>

</p>
<p>Video Marketing is basically your message, in the form of a video, sent to potential prospects or customers, or perhaps your existing customers or your mailing list.</p>
<p>So, what are the three golden rules of marketing video production?</p>
<p>This is what I reckon:</p>
<p>1) Speak to your customer as though you understand them</p>
<p>Even with video marketing, it&#8217;s still sales and marketing, and so the basic rules of marketing apply.</p>
<p>Remember all those copywriting golden rules about knowing who your ideal customer is, and their deepest emotional pain? Address those needs in your video, and your customer will be so pleased you understand where they&#8217;re coming from, that they will be putty in your hands and want to buy from you, because you understand them!</p>
<p>Example: Let&#8217;s say you are selling an exercise product about getting tighter abs. Your video marketing would speak to your ideal customer (someone who isn&#8217;t in peak fitness, but wants to be) &#8211; but has certain barriers towards your product, such as &#8216;I don&#8217;t know if this will work.&#8217; (give them some proof, or testimonials) &#8211; and &#8216;it sounds too hard&#8217; &#8211; (make it look easy and fun in the video!) &#8211; or &#8216;what say I buy it and it&#8217;s rubbish?&#8217; &#8211; (you might offer a money back guarantee).</p>
<p>Sometimes you know the customer will have a barrier to the purchase that you can&#8217;t address positively, i.e. let&#8217;s say the product won&#8217;t work overnight, but results take consistent effort &#8211; then, instead of trying to pretend that your product will work &#8216;overnight like a miracle!&#8217; &#8211; why not be real, and say &#8216;this probably isn&#8217;t for you if you are looking for a magic pill overnight trick to have flat abs by Friday. if you want that, why not buy one of the other 1000&#8242;s of scammy products out there!&#8217; &#8211; as in, you can make a perceived negative (&#8216;this product won&#8217;t work overnight, unless you put the work in&#8217;) into a positive (&#8216;because this is a real system, and all the others are just scams offering your empty promises with no money back guarantee.&#8217;)</p>
<p>2) Make sure the audio is as good quality as you can manage.</p>
<p>Sometimes, there is background noise in your video marketing recording. A lot of times this can actually be stripped away (such as by using the Strip Silence function in Logic Studio 9, which I use for my sound mixing) or perhaps a noise-reduction plug in (again, I use Logic Studio 9 for this). You can also boost audio levels if they are soft, either by lifting the volume, compression and limiting, or eq (bringing up a certain frequency and thus making the vocal &#8216;pop&#8217;.)</p>
<p>You can also reduce frequencies &#8211; such as stripping out the low end, which is often just &#8216;noise&#8217; &#8211; and you can do microscopic edits to reduce pops (like loud P&#8217;s that distort the sound) &#8211; or editing out a sudden loud noise.</p>
<p>You can also normalise levels, such as when cutting between two different locations where the sound quality is quite different, and fade edit points in and out so they are not noticeable.</p>
<p>(If you need help with your audio post production, just send the video to me, and I can fix the audio and send the video back to you with new audio!)</p>
<p>In rare cases you may want to replace dialogue. In the case of a sting or voiceover tag that is used over and over again, this can definitely be worth it.</p>
<p>Oh; and adding music covers a multitude of sins, including adding emotion &#8211; just make sure that it doesn&#8217;t drown out your voiceover.</p>
<p>Voiceovers, I believe sound best when spoken by humans. Computer-generated voiceovers are kind of a fun trick, when combined with a speaking cartoon avatar, but for constant use? I just don&#8217;t think they are as good. But you could always split test two different versions and see which converts better!</p>
<p>3) Make sure the pictures look okay! &#8211; and if not, replace them!</p>
<p>Many times with marketing video production you may want to edit out a piece here and there (let&#8217;s say, I scratched my head in the video and want to edit that bit out) &#8211; but want to keep the audio, therefore creating a &#8216;hole&#8217; in the pictures that you have to replace. I have found that a simple fade to black (if the duration is short) or cut-away to a little animation or picture which illustrates a concept you are talking about at that spot (if the hole is a little longer) can do the trick!</p>
<p>You can use just the audio, and replace pictures &#8211; and this can make a really cool video &#8211; where you intercut product shots and charts and other visual aids.</p>
<p>Often I get video to work with that the client has sent me that&#8217;s not super-great quality. The workaround for this is that when you embed the video in the page, you just make the player a smaller screen size (such as, display it in a side-bar). Most video looks okay (or, at least better) when it&#8217;s small. It&#8217;s when you blow it up to full screen that you might notice more if it&#8217;s grainy and so on. But don&#8217;t panic too much; low res video generally loads faster. Sometimes HD footage that&#8217;s been uploaded at a very high resolution takes so long to load that the customer may have lost interest and leaves the page without even watching the video.</p>
<p>That concludes my three golden rules for video marketing.</p>
<p>It is amazing how you can actually &#8216;save&#8217; a video &#8211; by doing these little enhancements and tricks &#8211; and a lot of the work I do here at videomarketingnow.com is just that, saving peoples footage or saving people&#8217;s audio or else enhancing by adding effects, more edits, branded titles, and so on.</p>
<p>chat soon!<br />

</p><br />
I predict that Video Blogging for business is going to be big, and that any business incorporating that into their video marketing campaign is going to absolutely smash their competition who isn&#8217;t doing it yet!</p>
<p><div id="attachment_35" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 262px">
	<a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/i-phone-podcast.png"><img class="size-full wp-image-35" title="Video Marketing using Podcasts: I-phone" src="http://videomarketingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/i-phone-podcast.png" alt="Video Marketing using Podcasts: I-phone" width="262" height="301" /></a>
	<p class="wp-caption-text">Video Marketing using Podcasts: I-phone</p>
</div>
<p>We&#8217;re all becoming information and content junkies, and we&#8217;re sick of reading (which seems way too much like work!) &#8211; and infotainment is huge.</p>
<p>Infotainment, as in &#8211; we like information, we love it! &#8211; but we like to be entertained while we&#8217;re learning.<br />
- plus, the more senses and emotions engaged by the material, the better we like it.</p>
<p>Cause it makes us feel something.</p>
<p>(good, hopefully!)</p>
<p>So, my point &#8211; becoming a video podcaster is actually quite easy. And it&#8217;s going to be huge.</p>
<p>I am about to set this up for a client (helping them create some weekly video content, and setting them up as a podcaster, and incorporating that technology into their website.)</p>
<p>Video Marketing for business is so much more, these days, than just creating a webomercial, uploading it somewhere and then thinking &#8216;okay, I&#8217;m done&#8217;.</p>
<p>I think businesses should totally consider making regular video content about their niche or expertise, and growing some trust and a &#8216;relationship&#8217; with their clients that way.</p>
<p>And ps, if you need some help with that, I&#8217;m just an <a href="http://videomarketingnow.com/contact">email</a> away!</p>
